A Family Thing
Earl Pilcher Jr. runs an equipment rental outfit in Arkansas, lives with his wife and kids and parents, and rarely takes off his gimme cap. His mother dies, leaving a letter explaining he's not her natural son, but the son of a Black woman who died in childbirth; plus, he has a half brother Ray, in Chicago, she wants him to visit. Earl makes the trip, initially receiving a cold welcome from Ray and Ray's son, Virgil. His birth mother's sister, Aunt T., an aged and blind matriarch, takes Earl in tow and insists that the family open up to him.

Find a Family
Find a Family is a British television programme that aired between 1989 and 1991 across the ITV network. The programme was an appeal to rehome disadvantaged children for adoption or long-term fostering.
It usually took the form of a series of short videos shown during advertisement breaks between scheduled program slots. The video would appeal for a foster family to a homeless child seeking a family. During that same week there would be a longer programme which highlighted the results of the phone in campaign for that week.
The theme music for the show was written by Allan Clarke and Gary Benson and performed by The Hollies. The track, "Find Me a Family", was released as a single and peaked at No. 79.
The show is not to be confused with the identically titled occasional slot in LWT's The Weekend Live. In 2009, Channel 4 aired a documentary series following a similar theme under the title "Find Me a Family".

When the mobster Iwaida Nishikawi is executed by the hit man Takeshi, his family chases the killer. Takeshi's brothers Takashi and Hideshi Miwa try to find Takeshi, who is hidden with the nurse Rie Ishibashi, to protect him and Hideshi discovers that Takeshi was secretly sent by their Yakuza boss to eliminate Iwaida. Meanwhile, the mobster Kenmoshi abducts Takashi's wife Mariko and rapes her, trying to force Takashi to deliver his brother to him.
